Talbot State Bank is committed to supporing the financial well-being and economic growth of the communities we serve. As part of this commitment, the Bank complies with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), a federal law enacted in 1977 to encourage financial institutions to help meet the credit and banking needs of their entire community, including low- and moderate-income individuals and neighborhoods, through safe and sound banking practices.
Under the CRA, federal regulatory agencies-including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Federal Reserve (FRB), and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)-periodically evaluate banks to ensure they are effectively serving their communities. These evaluations assess lending practices, retail banking services, and community development activities. A bank's CRA performance record is also considered when the institution applies to open new branches or pursue mergers or acquisitions.
In accordance with federal law, Talbot State Bank maintains a CRA Public File, that contains information regarding the Bank's performance in helping meet community credit needs. Federal regulations require that banks must make their CRA Public File available to the general public through their website and update the files to be current as of April 1, of each year.
